ABOUT THE CREATORClaudia Baumgarten has had a 10 year romance with the writings of Dorothy Parker. After having read almost every word written by or about Ms. Parker, Ms. Baumgarten composed the solo show highlighting her fascinating life and her memorable work.
WIT & WRATH: The Life & Times of Dorothy Parker was performed by Ms. Baumgarten to sold-out audiences at the 2014 New Orleans Fringe Festival and both the 2015 and 2016 Tennessee Williams Festival in New Orleans. Claudia Baumgarten has spent the past three decades performing on and creating original works for the stages of the city of New Orleans. She has a number of film and national commercial credits, and has studied with some of the world's most prestigious theater, movement and voice teachers, including Richard Armstrong (Voice Training at BANFF), the Pantheatre (Paris, France), Deena Levy (NYC Acting Workshop), Patsy Rodenburg (Michael Howard Summer Conservatory in NYC), and Louis Schneeder (Shakespeare Santa Monica). A natural story-teller, Ms. Baumgarten also enjoys entertaining and engaging children at schools and libraries in New Orleans and throughout Louisiana. Ms. Baumgarten has always harbored a passion for cabaret, and has a strong history of musical performance in New Orleans. Currently, she performs with MISS CLAUDIA & The Delicious Jazz Band, offering a set of songs centered around man's (ladies') second greatest pleasure - FOOD! |
